OneWebDay: your web, your day

OneWebDay09OneWebDay 2009:
One Web. For All.

For the last three years, OneWebDay has attracted a global network of partner organizations and individual activists committed to broadening the public’s awareness of Internet and Web issues while deepening a culture of participation in building a Web that works for everyone. In 2008, OneWebDay organizers documented volunteer-driven events in 34 different cities across the world.

OneWebDay leaders seek to build an organization that looks, feels, and works like the Web – a diverse, decentralized engine of human creativity that delivers value by pushing power to the edges of its network of organizers and partners. OneWebDay will offer sustained support and development to its network and create an annual event that makes the power of the Web and the threats it faces tangible to a wide audience. We believe that through this effort, the OneWebDay network can become a strong global community of advocates for the future of the Web. We hope you will get involved.
