A video-interview with Henry Jenkins @ MIT5
Here is a video-interview (17+ min.) with Henry Jenkins during Media In Transition 5. The full transcript will be included in the Italian edition of Fans, Bloggers & Fans, due next September by FrancoAngeli Publisher, with my translation. (Also Convergence Culture will be published soon by Milan’s Apogeo). Here Jenkins fills up the gap after the US publication of those books, talking about the general expansion of participatory culture and the current clash between commercial pressure and user-generated content. Along with a comparison of the two somewhat opposing models represented by YouTube and Second Life, he also touches upon some differences in the participatory culture within the US, Europe and Japan.
